Why everyone is in a hurry.
Before mainnet opened, USDC already sitting on Arc changed hands over the counter at up to 1.8x face value, with a 3% taker fee on top. That premium exists because the official 1:1 channel only opens with mainnet. When it opens, the discount is the trade: same dollar, no premium, straight from Circle.
